Here are five little things that kept me occupied in lately:

asja and bear
I made a small bear painting (5×5 inches) on canvas using deco paint pens.

*****

flyers
Also, I made some new DIY flyers/business cards. they are hand drawn and then photocopied.

*****

pimpmymoleskine
My mini Moleskine cover got a little face-lift. I decorated it with moo stickers with my own designs and with kitchy stickers from a local store.

*****

paints
Today I kept myself busy cleaning my home studio. Here is a detail of a shelf with acrylic paints. It will probably get cluttered with other stuff pretty soon but for now it looks neat.

*****

deco paper
I sorted through my humble collection of decorative papers to see which one will get used a photo backdrop next.

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was pretty uneventful and laid-back (which I loved) and spent mostly making things, eating good food and listening to obscure 90′s punk rock bands! Yay!
Here is a little showcase of:

big doodle
Sometimes there is nothing more relaxing than drawing a big pattern! I felt like I needed to get rd of some stress this weekend so I doodled this big piece (it’s 30×40 cm) and it was very therapeutic.

cards

In art, I love seeing accurately drawn, clean (and usually uninterrupted  ) lines and I’m always striving to better the quality of lines in my  work and to draw them with confidence. But sometimes, I also feel like  taking a break from accuracy and control and just want create messy  stuff : ) So, a couple of days ago I took a bottle of ink and dipped a  grill stick into it and started drawing and making messy lines on cards.  Later I colored them with crayons and ended up with fourteen messy  cards, different than my usual style.

I also made some gift tags using mini prints of my illustrations and ended up turning one of them into a key chain.

I asked my Mom what would she like me to get her on a Mother’s Day, and she replied “Well, you don’t have to get me anything for the occasion but when you find the time you can paint a fox on a canvas bag for me.” And that’s what I did yesterday.
I even made a little work in progress video ( I forgot to disable the sound so can hear all the wonderful background noises like cars passing by, me zipping my hoodie, and water in the sink and all that twice the speed, hehe). I had so much fun shooting the video, now I’m thinking to do more clips like this, maybe better lit and thought-out more and less improvised.

This how a finished bag looks like:

My Mom really liked it and she’s happy with her new bag!

In lately I’ve been in need of some new business card so I thought it might be fun to make some of my own. First I made simple ones by using a stamp I carved out.

Then I thought to make some printed ones as well that I like better and will end up using:

labeling

Yesterday I got a couple of jars of the most delicious, homemade plum jam from Slavonija, eastern part of Croatia. Since jam was made at home and came in plain jars I decided to label them, just for fun. I also made little “hats” for jars by flattening paper cupcake holders, just for the sake of photographing them, haha. Silly things like that make me happy.
