…that illustrations just magically appear on paper, that we could materialize them with the mere will of our thoughts. Wouldn’t that be great and time saving also? Well, on rare occasions I wish that could happen, but most of the time I enjoy process of drawing and creating and don’t want to speed it up!

Ooops, it happened to me again, I got so busy in my real, non-internet, offline, analog life that I started to neglect my humble home on the web!
But I’m here now (even though it’s Saturday evening) and I’m uploading a new post!
The illustration you see above is my attempt to draw some monkeys, something I never did before (monkeys were never my favorite critters) and I’m still trying to come up with my perfect monkey character design!

From my sketchbook, done with color pencils and ink.
Last week I had an interesting dream dreamt early in the morning just before I woke up so I remebered it weel. In my dream I saw an illustration of a round cartoon bear skiing. As soon as I woke up I grabbed a piece of paper and sketched the bear I saw in my dream. Later that day I drew my first “bubblegum” bear. You can see it on top photo on the left.

Daily illustration.

Not so long ago I found this old 1957 magazine beside a trash can and I thought the cover looked funny so I photographed it. I found it funny because the name of magazine is Savremena tehnika (Contemporary technology) and it decipts some sort of vision of future where people are served by robots. When I was a little girl I was absolutely convinced when I grow up we will all have robotos to do chores for us, clean around the house, cook meals etc. I was also convinced everyone will drive around in flying saucers instead of cars so you can imagine my disappointment that any of that didn’t happen haha.
Today I felt inspired to sketch a robot I’d like to have. I don’t mind cooking and cleaning so much but I keep forgetting to water my plants so I would love to have a plant watering robot!

From my sketchbook, drawn last night: garden gnome and his bear buddy admiring gnome’s fancy, colorful flower.
Done with color pencils and ink.

My response to Illustration Friday topic this week: caged.
Some birds just refuse to be caged!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

I’ve been drawing lots of pandas in order to warm up for drawing even more pandas ![]()
This is an A3 format drawing and since I couldn’t scan it, I took it outside and photographed it in nice, green natural environment.
