pancake love
Everyone loves pancakes. Well, at least this dog does. I do too. I tried “chubby pancakes” ( or American pancakes as I call them as opposed to skinny ones a.k.a. crepes) first time this Winter when Arlen made them and I loved them!

(This is another page from my sketchbook, colored)

news
As you might noticed in lately I’ve been posting mostly drawings from my sketchbook and slightly neglecting my blog (and flickr) and the reason for that is not me losing inspiration or interest in blogging but being very busy with a super exciting project! Not so long ago I started working on my first book, a collection of my illustrations. The book will be out in Autumn 2011. but I should finish most of it by mid June so I’m spending every free moment of my time sketching, coloring and putting together fun, colorful happy illos! The working title of the book for now is Unconditional joy of living because that’s the feeling I try to express in my illustrations. The book is divided into four chapters, every chapter representing one season of the year in up to twenty drawings.
Working on this project is making me happy and absolutely thrilled and I will share more about it soon!

happy racers

Candy worms racing, Colorful candy ghost riders, Candy town hosts a race of colorful ghost in old timers, Racing in Candyland, Deliriously happy candy ghosts on a joyride- all of these came to mind when thinking of a title for this drawing before I settled for a simple and a bit generic name Happy racers.
Originally I had an idea of drawing a Halloween inspired illustration of colorful ghosts racing , sort of like a candy ghost riders but realized that final result doesn’t look a tiny bit spooky or has any Halloween mood.
But, I decided to post this anyway because a thought of colorful candy ghosts racing in their little cars makes me happy :)

“Lucky garden”, 70×50 cm, mixed media
This is a second collaboration with Arlen Dean (Alkaline Samurai on flickr), it was very fun making it. It was Arlen’s idea to get a big poster paper and first add some abstract colorful paper cut outs and then draw around them.

I’m not on my vacation anymore, so I’m looking forward to catching up with your blogs as soon as I can. Have a wonderful week everyone!
